History

People often ask me where the name Lavictus comes from, so here is a little history lesson on how it all started...

When I was 12, I had just started playing and collecting Warhammer 40k, a tabletop wargame set in the 41rst millennium. One of the armies you could play was Space Marines. These genetically enhanced humans where the poster boys for Warhammer 40k and where included in the starter set. One of the largest sub-armies of the Space Marines where the Ultramarines, which I decided I wanted to play. After a while I bought the leader of the Ultramarines, which shipped with the Ultramarines elite warriors: The Honour Guard.

After painting the models, I wanted to give them names. One of the soldiers I named Lavictus, loosely inspired by other Roman/Greek names. Around the same period, I started PC gaming. My first online name I picked was Klabam22 on the PlayStation 3, because Mark was obviously already taken. When I started gaming more, I didn’t want a name that was a sound combined with a number. I wanted my own unique username. I gave Lavictus a go, and hell, it wasn’t taken yet!

Since then my online username was Lavictus. Only on a rare occasion is the name already taken.
